I don't think it's for everyone, but, I found  the short film 'Glory at Sea' pretty magical.
The video is not in HD but this served to re-emphasise something that I know Elliot Grove talks about in his production classes and something I have also been a strong believer in – the sound quality is as (if not more) important than the picture quality.
The sound of this short is amazing. I don't just mean the anthemic score, but the voices, the background, everything is crystal clear and tight.

I ran a recording studio for a few years, and have been a working musician for most of my life, and I hate bad sound. And most shorts I see have it. Horrible, flat, whiny, noise voice tracks. Jumps in sound continuity. They drive me crazy.

Look at 'Glory at Sea' (magic realism?! maybe, I'm no expert), but more importantly – LISTEN to it. Everything (movies included) I watch at home I listen to with headphones. And this short does not disappoint.

Ok…gushing praise over.
